Terms of use
Last updated: October 1, 2026
1. Scope
These terms apply to the use of aigamecritic.com (“aigamecritic”, “we”), operated by Sven Gerlach, Alpenrosenweg 64, 22523 Hamburg, Germany. By creating an account, posting content or submitting a game you agree to these terms. Using aigamecritic is free.
2. Accounts
You need a valid email address to create an account. You log in with one-time links we send to that address, so keep your mailbox secure. You must be at least 16 years old. One person, one account. Usernames must not impersonate others or be offensive. We may refuse or suspend accounts that break these terms.
3. Your content
You are responsible for everything you post: comments, takes, links, game submissions, texts and images. Do not post content that
- is illegal, including insults, defamation, threats, incitement or content that violates the protection of minors;
- infringes the rights of others, especially copyrights, trademarks or personality rights;
- is spam, advertising or contains misleading information;
- harasses or discriminates against people;
- attempts to manipulate ratings (e.g. multiple accounts, paid or coordinated ratings).
You grant us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to publish, store, display, adapt the format of (e.g. compress or crop) and make publicly available the content you post on aigamecritic and in connection with promoting aigamecritic, for as long as it is published here. You can delete your account at any time; your comments and takes are then deleted.
4. Game submissions by developers
By submitting a game you confirm that you are the developer or authorised to act for them, and that you own or have licensed all rights to the texts and images you provide. You must disclose the use of generative AI truthfully and completely. Games with false AI disclosures or false “handmade” claims may be marked, edited or removed. There is no right to be listed: we curate and decide freely which games we publish. Changes to published games are reviewed before they go live. We may edit submitted information for clarity, correctness and length.
5. Insert Coin (playtest builds)
Insert Coin lists unfinished games (“builds”) that developers host elsewhere — for example on Claude, ChatGPT, itch.io or their own website. We only link to these builds; we do not host, run or examine their code.
- For players: builds are external content, provided by their developers “as is”. They may contain bugs, may change or disappear at any time and may collect data under the terms of the platform they run on. We check every link and every new version before it goes live, but we cannot check what a build does. You open builds at your own risk; never enter passwords or payment details in a build and do not download or run files from it. Our liability for builds is limited as described in section 10; beyond that, we are not responsible for external builds or the websites they run on.
- For developers: by posting a build you confirm that you have the right to share it, that it is a playable browser game or an itch.io page, and that it contains no malware, phishing, tracking beyond what its platform does by default, illegal content or content harmful to minors. You are solely responsible for the build and its content and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from it, unless you are not at fault. You must disclose the use of generative AI truthfully. Direct download links are not allowed.
- Feedback: feedback answers are visible only to the developer of the build and to us. Developers must not publish feedback with the tester's username without permission. Reactions are public.
- Removal: we may reject, hide or remove builds at any time, in particular after a report, if a link stops working or if we suspect harmful content. Report a build through its “Report” link.
6. External links and summaries
When you share an X post or a link, you are responsible for your summary being fair and accurate. External content is the sole responsibility of its authors and operators; we do not adopt it as our own.
7. Moderation and reporting (Digital Services Act)
Anyone can report content they consider illegal or in breach of these terms through the “Report” link. We review reports carefully and in a timely manner and inform the reporter of our decision. The first posts of new members are reviewed before publication. We may remove content, restrict visibility or suspend accounts if content is illegal or breaks these terms. If we take action against your content, we tell you the reasons, and you can object by replying to our email; we will then review the decision again. The facts and circumstances we consider include the content itself, its context and any information given in the report. Misuse of the reporting system can lead to reports being ignored.
8. Ratings and scores
Player ratings reflect the opinions of individual users. Store scores are taken from Steam and GOG and may be out of date. Our editor scores and texts are our opinion. Affiliate or referral links may be used; they do not influence our editorial decisions.
9. Availability
We try to keep aigamecritic available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may change, restrict or discontinue features at any time.
10. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are only liable for breaches of essential obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes proper use of the service possible in the first place and on which you may rely), limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of service. Otherwise, liability is excluded. Since the service is free of charge, the statutory privileges for gratuitous services apply.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for valid reasons, for example due to legal changes or new features. We will inform registered users by email at least four weeks before changes take effect. If you do not object before then, the new terms apply; we will point this out in the email. If you object, we may close your account.
12. Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you have your habitual residence. Should any provision of these terms be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is not affected.
